Cedar Ridge Winery and Distillery is rooted in the Corn Belt in Swisher near Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Iowans understand the value of a hard day at the job and desire to unwind after it. From acres of Iowa-grown grapes to our unending bushels of corn straight from our fertile Midwestern soil, we put only the best into our wines and spirits – nothing else will do. Using nature as our ultimate guide, we age our whiskeys in a non-temperature-controlled climate and allow Nature to guide the way.
The Quint family has farmed and distilled spirits for generations. In 2005, Jeff Quint founded Cedar Ridge because he believed it was time for Iowa–the number one corn-producing state in the U.S.–to share its homegrown Bourbon Whiskey with the world. Cedar Ridge was the first licensed distillery in Iowa since Prohibition. After releasing its first batch of whiskey in 2010, Cedar Ridge Distillery quickly became a nationally recognized leader in craft spirits, winning multiple awards such as American Distilling Institute’s “2017 Distiller of the Year” or “Best American Craft Whiskey” at the 2016 New York World Spirits Competition.
Just a 15-minute drive from downtown Cedar Rapids, you’ll find some of the best craft spirits in the country at Cedar Ridge, Iowa’s first licensed distillery since prohibition. Since their first batch of whiskey in 2010, Cedar Ridge has gained national attention with their spirits, winning multiple awards such as American Distilling Institute’s “2017 Distiller of the Year” and “Best American Craft Whiskey” at the 2016 New York World Spirits Competition. And this is just the beginning for Cedar Ridge — year after year, their production has grown, adding more and more barrel sheds as well as creative spirits to their arsenal.
Iowa’s high-quality corn isn’t the only thing working in favor of excellent whiskey. It’s also the weather. Iowa’s unpredictable climate creates ideal conditions for aging whiskey — no temperature control is needed. Thanks to the fluctuations in cold and hot temperatures, oak barrels expand and contract naturally, adding all-natural flavor to the spirits. Because Cedar Ridge is also a winery, they are also able to incorporate other unique elements to their whiskey and be more “artistic in shaping flavor profiles,” Quint says. For their Quintessential Single Malt, single malt whiskey is finished in wine casks to result in a more fruit-forward flavor. A1 Bed Bug Exterminator Cedar Rapids
While their award-winning wines and whiskeys are enough to draw visitors from across the country and even around the world, Cedar Ridge also has a gorgeous location that’s easily accessible from the highway.
